Seven Stars Inn

Visited this usually fantastic pub last Sunday with 10 family members & despite there only being one other table of 4 people in the restaurant the food was AWFUL. The lasagne was simply a congealed lump of pasta, the potatoes on the roast were just heated from frozen, & the usually fantastic port & stilton mushrooms (one of our favourites) were watery & the sauce was horrible. The most awful thing about it was that the 2 mixed grills that were ordered were served with raw meat on them!! The pork was wet & uncooked, the steak was wet & uncooked (not rare, simply uncooked/cold) & the kidney was uncooked. It was enough to put us all of our very disappointing meals. We sent the mixed grills back immediately & the waiter apologised & said he would take it back "to be cooked" but they refused, so he asked them what they wanted instead. On paying the bill the manager/owner had simply removed the mixed grills from the bill but expected us to pay for the replacement meals that they had hardly touched after being put off by the meat on the mixed grills!!

It is not surprising that this previously busy pub serving fantastic food, where we always made a booking to guarantee a table, was so quiet on a lovely sunny day if this is how the standard of their food has deteriorated.

After settling the bill the manager said that he hoped we "would come back again to try & rectify things", however as we value our health & do not want food poisoning, sadly we won't be going back.
