As a visitor from Northern Ireland, I have rarely had a more enjoyable evening with really good craic, The food was excellent and the locals made me feel really welcomed. Would love to come and visit again.

I am norwegian, and lived for 3 years in Canford Heath. During that time I visited the Pilot a couple of times. It was a decent place considering the surrounding area. I found it way better than the pub down by Adastral roundabout, and the one by ASDA. I am coming back to Poole in the summer, and will probably go to the Pilot for a drink, even though I prefer pubs in the countryside.

The Pilot used to be a good local Pub, but it was taken over by an egotistical person with two other pubs. All three pubs went bust because the food was poor and the atmosphere cronic. It has now been taken over but no-one knows who by but it still has the same cook so nothing changed really apart from we now have 'music' which is not designed for a local pub like this. We have four drinking establishments in a square mile, too many for a small area and its either The Oakdale or Pilot that will close.

Lucky for the Pilot that the Oakdale is even worse with just sad old men looking at the bottom of their glass's all night and with it recently changed hands the food is now poorer than ever.
