Branksome Beach Restaurant

I am writing about a meal we had on Tuesday 21st June at about 1.30pm in the Terrace Bar. We asked what the 'selection of fresh sandwiches' on the board was & were told there was only Italian chicken, we asked what that was & the girl did not know so she had to ask, nobody knew so she had to open one of the pre-made sandwiches. Anyway there was no selection. Then i asked for a cream cheese and smoked salmon bagel. The bagel was white anaemic looking & doughy it didnt even looked cooked, it was pretty awful but we were hungry & there was no alternative. A beautiful location you have but the service and limited menu upstairs let you down, we were only in the area visiting family that day & they were embarrassed to say the least.

Staff very rude, in particular the front of house manager 'Paul' who appears to instill this in his other waiting staff.

Food (seafood stir fry) was not cooked properly. After eating at restaurant we had upset stomachs. A bad taste left in our mouths, in more than just one way.

If a zero star could be given, we would have.

We had a dinner booking for 6 people, they were running behind so sent us to the bar upstairs to start ordering drinks (fine).

Drinks ordered and after 20 mains they came back and let us know they could not make some of the cocktails as they ran out of lime (it wasn't busy, what took so long for them to realise? and did he know there was a basket of lime at the restaurant entrance??).

Anyway, after a few polite enquiries on our table booking (we were hungry) it was realised that they forgot to tell us that our table had been ready for a while (surprise, surprise).

Seated, ordered food, and was over charged at the end of the meal. The food was ok, but needless to say our overall experience very poor.There are better places to enjoy the beautiful view offer, go elsewhere!
