Not too sure how many Dr. Who's there have been, but the latest, dropped me off at Mr.Kyps, way back in the 1960's, and just to prove it, 'The Small Faces' were performing, well actually these were the 'Small Fakers', a fantastic tribute to the original band. (27/1/12)
All the hits and 'B' Sides, songs from all the albums, enough there to keep any 'Mod' more than happy.
The attention to detail was meticulous, all the mannerisms and the infectious laughter, and the banter that goes with showing that these guys were so enjoying themselves. So were the audience!
One fantastic moment comes to mind, when the Lead Guitarist played one (just one) bum note, quickly retuned and carried on, all in the blink of an eye. How he managed to play, sing and laugh all at the same time is a mystery, but he did.
If any out there read this, I can only say that if they return, (please) try to make the gig. You will not regret it.
I have outgrown my Mod Gear, but one or two in the audience wore theirs, proudly, while dancing and singing along with the band. Good to see many 'younger folk' in the audience too, the Small Faces music easily bridges the gap in the years.
Thank you, The Small Fakers, and Mr. Kyps, plus all his Staff, for keeping music live.

I have been a regular visitor to Mr Kyps for many years. Not only has Kyp a fantastic talent for finding original new artists (He was the first to showcase Joe Bonamassa in the UK for example) but he has some of the best tribute acts on the circuit. This month ( September 2010) has been exceptional. Well done!

Fantastic club dedicated to keeping music live. Back after a major renovation, I went to see No Jacket Required a 10-piece Phil Collins tribute. The venue was packed and I must say I was impressed with the band. They are very good and just like the real thing! I'll be back.
